Hi, reddcurlz, and welcome.  Booni and wren really do a fabulous job of putting us on the scene, don't they?

Booni, in this picture taken in March, 2011 of Dad, you can see the yellow around the eye, but not as pronounced as in your recent picture. Lighting difference?

Wonderful photos, Booni and Wren.  So glad Mom, Dad and Hope are back safe and sound.  Hope to see Alexandra and David soon.  It was a real treat to see Hope. I came in when Phoenix was a day old so missed seeing her grow up.  Doug, thanks too for keeping us up to date.

And now I should return to the story that got me out to the nest in the first place... The pursuit!

I told the story in this post. 2 eagles chasing each other around my neighbourhood, and disappearing toward Nest #9, and then a bit later, one, presumably Mom, returning to the area of "our" nest.

Now, I don't have any pictures with both eagles in the frame, so I've got no proof of who was chasing whom. But I'm pretty sure that I photographed the pursuer first.
Here she is!
October 14, 4:54 pm

She was far away, but click on the photo... and now we do know who has a newly-moulted fourth primary...
It's Mom!
All the photos I took of her show the shorter feather on both sides. So it's really her!

And here is the other actor in this drama.

Definitely an adult...
Definitely not Hope...
This eagles has some interesting shapes in his or her proximal secondaries.
I'm thinking maybe an adult from nest #9?

Great photos and sleuthing, Wren!  It's so nice to see Mom again!
