Listen to the lovely morning sounds of Mum & Dad shuggling, then calling from Gregg*s Tree, & Hali calling from the Babysitting Tree!
Thank you again Paint!
August 6 4:51 am hear a shuggle; 5:03 hear calls from Gregg's; then at 5:10 Mom and Dad seem to be on Gregg's Tree and Hali in BST and then start calling

Cali recorded a vocalization we heard this morning.
Mum & Dad are on the Nest & we hear what sounds at first to be a Sea Bird, but then the sound turns into trilling!
Unusual call.. a youngster?

i could hear an Eagle gulling & the sound was close!
Turned out Mum Niner was in the Tree across the road from me.
The Niners use this Tree a lot, but unfortunately there is often greenery between me & them.
i was interested in the vocalizations, so i did a video.
She is pointed in the direction of her Nest Tree, & keeping an eye on things there.
She is making very soft vocalizations, so turn up your volume.
On the one hand they sound like food-coming-in calls, but then they also sound like the calls Eagles make when they are talking to their youngsters.
Sometimes you can see her beak move, but you don*t hear the soft sound, but i could hear it from the ground.
Perhaps she is reassuring her youngster/s on the Nest?
When she look over her shoulder to our right, she is looking at Mum & Dad*s territory.
A minute in i just HAVE to swat that darn Mosquito!
winterwren & i have both heard these soft uk-uk vocalizations, i believe at Shingle Spit?, Nest #6/7 Savoie? & defintely one of the Brigs makes these sounds.
i have heard Mum Niner make sounds like this
here.

Here is another Eagle making those same, interesting vocalizations!
This one was at the Gravel Pit.
i took Otto here for our walk this day.
Right away i heard lots of Eagles, screeching & calling.
i suspected there was a food source there, but we wandered around & never found one.
Though i could hear many Eagles, i only ever spotted this one, making very interesting vocalizations!

i had to watch this video a few times.
It sounds like an adult making these calls, but it is Scootch!
Watch the beak open & close, & then you hear the vocalizations.
At the very beginning of the video, is that a Starling imitating Scootch or the other way around?
At 36 seconds into the video, you hear Mum making three notes & then does Scootch copy her?
Thanks for the video cali!

Scootch starts off screeping four times, then at about 50 seconds in, she does what almost sounds like a trill!
Also done around 1:30 & 1:40 into the video.
2:10 in she does it twice.
At 3:00, she goes back to screeping.
Thanks for the video cali!

Two videos of Scootch preening.
In each she makes a short call.
In the first one you can hear Rufus barking.
Then you hear Otto joining in.
Scootch calls twice in this one.

Okay, this is going back a ways!
wren & i spent the day, visiting a good few of the Nests together!
Nest #20 was very interesting that day.
Mum Nest #20 was nearby, & she was sure keeping an eye on us two.
She was making that very interesting reassuring call that Eagle (Mums?) make to their young.
i remember we were very excited to hear this, & i was super happy to get a recording of it.
