Beautiful Hornby Nest at 6:45 PM

No eagle sounds, just hammering and an occasional dog bark

Is this what the Hornby Island Eagles are doing now?

Watch the guy in the lower left hand corner. He makes his move at the end of the video.

I recorded the clip in December, 2007. The action takes place in the Goldstream Estuary, located in Victoria, B.C.  By December of the salmon have been eaten, but there are still tasty morsels to be found. I remade the original video, adding some music.

Thanks beans.  :biggrin6. We can imagine our eagle family there, filling up on salmon. Learning how to steal the fish, and how to hang on to it too.  :mhihi

I seldom get a chance to post, but have been watching the Hornby family since just before Hope and Echo were hatched.  I've laughed, and cried, and enjoyed every bit of time spent here.  I just wanted to say goodbye to the nest with heartfelt thanks to the Carricks and all the chatters who feel like old friends.  I'll be watching and hoping to meet up again, either at this nest or some other beautiful eagle home.

One of my favourite views of the nest is at sunset; when the sun casts a golden gloww over the nest.  This will be my last for this season.
