Betty, Rose, and Sparky had quite a morning, as did parents Big Red and Chayton, but all is well and all are healthy.

someone came onto chat yesterday and posted this link to an eagle cam in Davenport, Iowa at the Alcoa Rolled Mill plant.  Nice that a huge American corporation would do this.  (And I am happy because Alcoa is one of my longest-standing clients!  Very proud of them!)

Polar Bear cam on Tundra Buggy in Manitoba
« Reply #25 on: October 27, 2011, 11:16:47 PM »
A new program is streaming live the annual migration of hundreds of polar bears in Canada. The bears travel through the small town of Churchill, Manitoba, each fall and wait for the Hudson Bay to freeze up so they can hunt for seals. In the past, their trek was witnessed mainly by scientists and intrepid tourists. Now, thanks to a $50,000 grant from the Annenberg Foundation, the bearsí antics and actions can be viewed from anybody's living room at explore.org. Krista Wright, of Montana-based Polar Bears International, says the streaming cameras help raise awareness of climate change's effects on the animalsí habitat. Foundation vice president Charles Annenberg Weingarten says he hopes to expand it into a program of streaming cameras in various wild places  A Tundra Buggy rigged with a live camera roves the tundra tracking polar bears and other native species during daylight hours.  http://explore.org/#!/live-cams/player/polar-bear-tundra-buggy-cam

Thank you, for posting the Polar Bears link here, Tsebitai.  They are one of my favorite animals and it would be nice to be able to go there in person.  This is will be a wonderful cam to watch!

Just found this cam: Lucy the orphaned baby grizzly cub, rescued from Alaska & brought to Montana by Casey Anderson. The National Geographic guy who raised Brutus the Bear, who lives in the same santuary as Lucy.  Lucy is too little to be out with the 4 adult bears so she is in a den until she gets bigger. Lucy was born this past spring. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/montana-grizzly-encounter
