New Guy at Columbus Peregrine Facon Nest

Unfortunately, the other male disappeared and Durand stopped incubating her eggs.

From the website:

Quote
It appears his left legband is 32/B which would make him "Spark" from last year's Terminal Tower nest in Cleveland! Ironically, the adult male at that nest was "Boomer" hatched in 2008 in Columbus! How exciting to have offspring of a Columbus-produced bird come back to the Capital City!

The audio has failed in parts of the video.

Recorded around 11:30 AM EDT

1st egg laid: March 26, 2012
2nd egg laid: March 28, 2012
3rd egg laid: April 3, 2012

April 1, 2013:  Durand laid her fourth egg late yesterday or early today.  Eggs were infertile in both 2011 and 2012.  Durand's mate, Spark, appears to be incubating the eggs in the morning.

Durand and Spark have four eggs, which they frequently roll.  Durand seems to be listening to them.  The original clip was 15 minutes long, but the video is the last four minutes of that clip.  She was standing over the eggs for at least 15 minutes.  The weather has been very warm in Columbus, so it is not unusual for Durand and Spark to leave the eggs uncovered for a few minutes.  The incubation time is about 33 days.  Full incubation started after the third egg was laid.

Two chicks hatched yesterday!  I am assuming this is Spark, trying to incubate two chicks and two eggs. Durand, who is larger than her mate, would not have so much trouble covering them.

Spark arrives with some prey.  However, he doesn't drop it off --  he leaves, taking the prey with him!

And yes, it is Durand, not Spark, who lifts the babies by their neck.  She's desperate to get them under her warm feathers.

Spark Won't Share the Prey with Durand

Spark brings dinner to Durand and their tiny chicks, who immediately get up and beg for food!  There are three chicks…  the fourth egg has not hatched.

Spark is incubating the two eggs.  Then he leaves the nest box, flies away and returns to mate with Durand.
