Productivity: How Many Eggs, How Many Eaglets?
« on: March 13, 2010, 04:35:37 PM »
"Mom and Dad Hornby" have fledged 22 eaglets in 26 years of nesting (1990 - 2015).

The eagles constructed this nest in the fall of 1989; their first nesting season was 1990.  Prior to the cameras being placed in fall 2004, there is no information on the number of eggs laid each year, only the number of eaglets that were seen to have fledged.

Doug Carrick's book The Eagles of Hornby Island includes information on the productivity of this pair of eagles from 1990 through 2006 (see page 78).  This book can be purchased through Amazon: The Eagles of Hornby Island. Information for additional years is from unpublished records.

A few screencaptures and videos from years prior to 2010 can be seen on our website: http://www.hornbyeagles.com/gallery.htm
