Was on my way home on my bike with my friend when we spotted an Eagle in The His & Hers Tree.
Usually Em & Mr. Em perch on the top, but this Eagle was lower down & on the right.
They also seemed like a youngster, so we stopped to check them out.
Not the youngster i was expecting!

Gorgeous!

Another Eagle is calling & landing on the top of the Tree!
& they don*t seem bothered about this youngster.

Mr. Em!
Look at how you can see the roof of his mouth/beak.
i was wondering what the openings there are.
Those are the connection to the nostrils/nares!

i want to creep closer, but i take my time as sometimes that causes the Eagle to take flight.
So i make sure i get fotos from where i am, to start with.
Right now, i am on the road.
Then i start to move down the hill towards the Tree.

Looking up at Mr. Em.

Okay, getting closer now.

Love this view of the nictitating membrane.
The youngster has a down feather stuck to the top of their beak.

Yesterday it seemed on the cam as though there was a Herring ball feeding event & there were lots of Eagles in the neighbourhood!
Some were still resting when i headed out on my bike to see.
First stop was mishi*s Tree.
There were three Eagles there, but the one higher up left before i could get a photograph.
First i was attracted to this cutie pie.
Looks to be one turning two this spring.

february 16 2020 10:42 - youngster in mishi*s Tree

The breast is turning white while the head feathers are still dark & you can see where one ends & the other begins at the top of the breast.
Eye is still dark brown.
The top of the head is starting to go golden.

They were sharing their branch with an adult.

Go ahead.
Melt my heart.
