Wow Booni, those last shots of Em on 10-1-19 where she's looking right at you are spectacular.  She's definitley sporting the shaggy look, but I think she looks pretty healthy.  Here's hoping Mr Em shows up soon.  Thanks for the photos.

Great pics Booni, thanx so much for sharing. I was up Campbell River at Bute last month watching the grizzlies fishing for salmon. Three eagles were perched nearby, couldm't help wondering if they were Hornby's. Would love to come to Hornby Island but time didn't permit. One day..........

i was biking home in the Sun shine & on my way i did a spin through the Nest neighbourhood.
As i looked up at The Babysitting Tree, i saw TWO Eagles there!
As i passed by the water side, i heard Em*s characteristic giggle.
i was keen to see if Mr. Em was back.
i found out later they*d only landed there maybe fifteen minutes before i spotted them.
Welcome home Mr. Em!
He is relaxing/stretching his foot.
i didn*t see that, when i was taking fotos.
& his distinctive curlicue lip is plain for all to see!

Thanks for the photos Booni. So happy Mr and Mrs Em are both back.  I wonder if they stay together during the salmon run and just come back at different times?  Now all we need is for Churbles to pop up  :ecsmile

Okay, so i*m going to post this stuff here, since it is part of Em & Mr. Em*s territory!

i was visiting with a friend who lives to the left of Grassy Point, from the cam.
It was a cloudy day with a bit of spittering rain, which was perfect conditions for these fotos!
There was an amazing array of wildlife in view, that day.
My friend wanted to show me a Bird she had been watching, that she thought was something different from what she usually sees.
You can see the raindrops hitting the water in this foto.
This is our best guess about who this Bird is.
Thank you to wren for identifying who this Bird is!
A bit of a rare one!

october 6 2019 13:18 - Spotted Sandpiper

Now these are more her usual sightings.
The lighting was perfect to bring out the lovely colouring of these male Harlequins.

Astounding beauty.

Female or youngster here.

Our mystery Bird again.

The tide was coming in & our little shore Bird was skedaddling shore wards as the water drowned the rocks!
LOVE seeing the legs & toes!
You can see the water suddenly rushing in where the Bird is heading.

october 6 2019 13:26 - Spotted Sandpiper

This Bird was by themselves, which is apparently typical.

Making their way shore wards in all these fotos.

Money shots!
This is now a Greater Yellowlegs.
Thanks to wren for helping me to identify these Birds correctly. ♥

There were Otters coming & going the whole time!

october 6 2019 14:51 - River Otter

Two here.

The one in front giving themselves a good shake like a Dog, the one behind having a good scratch.

Interesting how the light changes from the last foto to this one.
Warm light to cool light.

Here*s our Bird again, catching a quick zzzzz...

october 6 2019 14:53 - Spotted Sandpiper

A Great Blue Heron had flown from right in front of where we were, over to the right, where the Otters were.
It was interesting to watch the interaction of the two species!
i was wondering who should be afraid of whom?

Lovely blue colouring on the Great Blue Heron, in this light.

Should have posted this with the Harlequins.
The males chased away a female or youngster.
