Finally a visit to this neighbourhood.
The nest is still as hard to see as ever.
It seemed empty, and there were no sounds. But look, yes, some bits of down here and there along the edge of the nest.
Then I saw some movement... Below the nest. Away, on the water side. Just a rounded eagle back, dark feathers.
An adult, or an eaglet?
Relax and wait and watch. Finally more movement: a speckled brown tail with tassels at the end of the feathers! Eaglet!
And not just that... When the shape moved around some more, another similar shape behind it did not seem to move. Was there a second Wiiglet? Both adults sounded off a few times from a different tree, to the left, invisible from the road.
I went along further to check the Brigantine nest, and on my return the situation was the same, just a bit of brown feathers against the brown of the tree bark, impossible to spot in the photos unless you know exactly where it's supposed to be.
I went around to the shore, but nothing visible from there either. The branches are even thicker on that side, and another row of trees along the shore mostly hides the nest tree from view.
Still... Finally after a few years, at least one Wiiglet, and maybe two!
