The new season for the Nest #9 territory begins now!

This is where we will post observations, videos, & fotos of the Nest #9 Eagle territory.
This territory is right next to Em & Dad*s, to the left as we look out through the webcam.
This Nest is hard to view, it is in a huge, beautiful old Fir Tree, so the Eagles are more often spotted in their perch Trees in their neighbourhood.
We are, however, able to see the Nest Tree & Nest from the cam.

The 2016-2017 topic for this territory can be found here.

i was on my way out the door to reboot the Eagle cam system when i spotted this gorgeous sub-adult Eagle in the Tree across the road from me!
This is my first sighting of an Eagle in Niner territory as well as being my first sighting of an Eagle who is not already adult.
This sub-adult has blood on their middle left toe, plus something looks weird about the talon on that toe as well.

Here the Eagle is looking over to where Dad & Em are perched, in The Babysitting Tree.

& now spotting me, of course, even though i am a long ways away just outside my front door.

Looking now towards Niner Nest area.

You can see what Dad & Em were up to from the ground here.

& the webcam videos from that time here.

Kayaking by the Niners' favourite perch tree this afternoon... It's quite a long shot from the water. I wish these were clearer; one of the eagles has either some staining or an injury below the eye.
The other one has a really full crop!

i was sitting downstairs doing a puzzle when i heard two Eagles doing that tittering sound they make when they are landing somewhere together & are trying to be noticed!
i thought it might be Dad & Em landing in mishi*s Tree, but the sound remained too close to be down the street.
So i went out to my front porch with my camera & there were the Niners in the Tree across the road from me!
This is a tough spot to get fotos of, as they are often behind the greenery.
You can see the second Niner*s tail fanned out on the right, & you can just see one yellow toe & talon behind the other*s yellow toes.
That kind of grey Tree to the left is getting taller & taller & blocking my view in.

Here look for a bit of beak, head feathers, & toes again.

You can see both beaks well in this one.

& the eye of the one in behind, here.

Nice surprise, booni.  I wonder if they consider you to be 'our human?!'     couch
