That's exciting, booni!  Deb will be interested.  I'm looking forward to seeing future photos as it changes.    They are beautiful when they hatch and dry their wings.   :nod2

Is it in a safe place now?

That's interesting, booni    It seems like a long time in the chrysalis stage.  I'm going to ask Deb how long the Monarchs are in that state.  I'm curious to know if the two species are similar or different in their development.    :nod2

That is a really neat find.  I hope it stays safe till it emerges in the spring.  They are such a beautiful butterfly.

Drat!
Something went terribly wrong!
This nestling was almost ready to fledge.

august 14 2018 11:52 - Pacific-slope Flycatcher nestling

i couldn*t believe what i was seeing so i went back the next day to check again.
Darn.
There was an unhatched egg in there, too.
Beautiful young one was almost ready.
Look at the pattern already visible on the wing, & the feathers still in sheaths.
