Thank you for taking us along on your  delightful excursion, pointing out with your artists eye the many details we might otherwise have missed, and sharing your love of the natural world along the way Booni. Every detail adds to the pleasure. :eclove

i had a fella spray foam insulation into all the spots under my roof where darn rats might be getting into my ceiling.
i noticed this spot that was getting chewed away at because i saw little chips of foam on my deck.
i figured a darn rat was trying to work their way in again & was debating what to do to stop them.
i even heard them gnawing in the daytime but when i went out to look the rat was gone, but a Bird flew away.
i heard whoever it was gnawing away again & found more chips when i went out to look.
It was getting dark, & hard to see into the hole, so i took a foto using my flash & look who was actually there!

Sitting here at my computer in the morning, i hear all this lovely tittering outside my window, it sounds so much like spring!
i stepped outside with my camera to capture it.

These are mostly Oregon/Dark-eyed Juncos, but there are other Birds in there too.

You can see the water burble where his mate has already dived down!
He is in the process of doing the same thing.

Took this just for the heck of it, but it is kind of cool.
This is not the usual shrimper.
Not sure what kind of fish boat this is, but i looked up the name & it means Sea Lice!
Now why would you name your boat that?

We had a surprise snow storm saturday night!
There were flakes coming down in the rain when i went out for wood for the woodstove at 10pm that evening, but it didn*t sound likely that we would get anything more than that.
As it got light sunday morning i was surprised to see my skylight covered in snow!
i couldn*t believe my eyes when i got up & found snow stuck to everything in the brilliant blue sky sunshine!
The wind was roaring that night, & the snow must have started out wet & sticky because the northwest side of everything had snow stuck to it, even the vertical surfaces.
Wires were wrapped in 3" of snow.
But it must have been followed by drier snow, & now the Wind was whipping that into the air like a fresh sparkling snow storm.
i finally got dressed & out there to take pictures.
i brought a measuring tape & there was 9" of snow on everything i measured.

february 18 2018 11:33 - snow!

Branch broken from the weight of the snow.

My little metal wind mill must have been spinning away in the blasts of wind yet got covered in the wet sticky snow anyway.

The Birds were sure happy to have the feeder!
i think i refilled it twice that day.
The Hummingbird feeder for the Anna*s i*d brought in overnight, fortunately.

Otto was leaping around with a big smile on his face!
