gillie, the most recent fotos i have of Em & who she is with are just back a few posts.
i am not sure who she is with.
i haven*t been able to identify Dad by his unique feather in a long time.
i am not saying he is not around, but i have not been able to identify him in a long while.
Yes, all the Hornby Eagles leave in the next few weeks to find the spawning Salmon at the Rivers.
wooohoooo!

Booni, When do the eagles return from the salmon runs? My fingers are crossed that Dad reappears then. Thanks!

On my way home i spotted two strange shapes that were large but not quite Eagle-ish.
There is a great big dead Buck in the ditch down below, hit by a car.  :ecsad
Click then click on the foto that opens to see the nictitating membrane & the sky right through the nostrils.

Your story about the Goose had me captivated from beginning to end, booni!  Nice to have folks to help and make things work out, until the sad ending.

Thank you for your effort toward getting the Goose to MARS.  HEART in action!    :heart

i was at the top end of Sandpiper, south & west area, when i heard an Eaglet screeping!
i ran outside in my bare feet looking up & spotted an adult flying inland with a Fish in their feet!
i could see the big tail flopping as the Eagle flew.
Perhaps a small Salmon?
& an Eaglet & an adult still here!
Not at all sure which Nest they were from, so i put this on the ground obs. topic.

this is awfully late in the season for an eaglet? will it be able to fledge and have time enough  to survive through winter?

There is no Nest in this area that i am aware of & the sound of the Eaglet disappeared so it seemed to me this youngster has left the Nest & is still being fed by their parent so, though very late indeed, all seemed well.
Once ready, these two will also leave Hornby for the Salmon Rivers.
Haven*t seen any Eagles at all lately, so this was quite the event!
It was wonderful hearing an Eaglet.
