The huge branch that tore off The Babysitting Tree to the left of Dad is still hanging in the Tree to the left & down a bit.

i noticed the Nest & Nest Tree in nice light!
The leaves are mostly gone from the Alders so there is a nice view in now.
Look how the cone comes to a point way down at the bottom.

A better view of the point at the bottom here.

december 6 2017 14:36 - Dad in The Babysitting Tree

i*ve pointed this out before, but i believe that huge trunk parallel to the Nest Tree trunk is actually a branch of The Nest Tree that broke off & is now hanging upside down.
It looks to me like it peeled off, just like the branch that broke off from next to where Dad is perched.
Doug described one year the whole Nest collapsed, 2004?, & that Mum & Dad rebuilt it in a month.

Thanks Booni. Such great photos! It's so good to hear that Dad is eating. I wonder if his beak just looks worse than it really is ?

i was on the road in front of the Nest photographing when one of the neighbours there called me over.
He had a picture to show me that the woman who lives overlooking the creek that comes out at Hidden Beach had taken.
Wow!
She had caught all of these adult Eagles standing in the water, bathing & drinking!
Apparently there were more than this foto shows.
He has been promising me a copy of the foto.
He is always interested in what is going on with the Eagles & stops to talk to me about what i am photographing & how the cam is going.
Yesterday he dropped me off a copy of the foto!

Eagle on His-and-Hers Tree, December 11, 1:15 pm.
I had been watching this eagle through the cam while I ate lunch, so this one had been there a while.
Full crop, too. Makes it hard to see the neckline.
Two tiny dark bits on the tail tips.
