July 9, 2017: Rivet is the remaining juvenile in this osprey nest. Sadly, her sister, Whirley, had to be humanely euthanized, due to the extent of her injuries. How long will the parents bring her fish?

First fledge date: July 3, 2017

First hatch date: May 12, 2017
Second hatch date: May 14, 2017

The chicks are named Whirley and Rivet

Thank you, Beans - I have enjoyed this series of videos of the Ospreys so very much, although it was sad to learn of Whirlley's accident.  They are such beautiful birds!

Her accident was very sad.  However, less than 50% of osprey chicks live to be a year old.   sad

Will Rivet get anything to eat?

August 3, 2017:  She’s been calling for hours.  The good news is that she does get some fish.  The best news is that both Richmond and Rosie are with her.

First hatch date: May 12, 2017
Second hatch date: May 14, 2017

First fledge: July 3, 2017
Second fledge:  July 4, 2017 (?)

The chicks are named Whirley and Rivet

Whirley was just learning to fly and she flew away in the night and got injured, was found by a barge crew in the water and taken to Wild Care. Her injuries were too serious for her to recover

I remember when a certain Hornby Island eaglet flew at the camera.
