The Dunlop Nest is in a FABULOUS location.
On a point with a view to forever, a huge amount of shore for food, & lots of lovely Arbutus Trees.

Last year, THREE Eaglets were spotted in one Tree!
This was a bit of a mystery, since this Nest usually has two.
A visiting Eaglet?
Or the first case on Hornby recorded of a three Eaglet Nest?
We*ll never know.

Last year*s posts, & links to previous years can be found here.

We walked on this sunny cold day from Sandpiper Beach towards Dunlop Point.
The whole time there were two Eagles, each in their own Dunlop Point perch Tree.
The tide was going out & the shore was covered in frozen Sea water pieces.
The waves were tinkling, a lovely sound.

Would be fun to hear 'tinkling waves!'

The Dunlops still seem to be incubating, one on the Nest one defending the territory.
We are visiting this Nest & here are the calls we heard.

We went for a walk on the beach near this Nest & it was still foggy, though sunshine was promised.
Through the fog, i could see both Dunlop adults the whole time, OFF the Nest!
Do they have a hatch?
It was a warm day, even with the fog.
The adult is perched near the Nest, in these first two fotos.

The tide was out, & maybe this other adult was searching for food, through the fog.

Not very good fotos on this sunny bright day from far away, but good enough to see that the Dunlops already have two big brown Eaglets!
