This is where we will post observations, videos, & fotos of the Nest #9 Eagle territory.
This territory is right next to Em & Dad*s, to the left as we look out through the webcam.
This Nest is hard to view, it is in a huge, beautiful old Fir Tree, so the Eagles are more often spotted in their perch Trees in their neighbourhood.

The 2015-2016 topic for this territory can be found here.

At least a week before Em was first spotted with Dad in The Babysitting Tree by wren, i started hearing female calls in the Niner territory.
Two days i was SURE i*d heard female calls coming from Dad*s territory, too, but driving around, i never spotted any Eagles in the usual Trees.
Tonight, just before dark, i was on the phone, darnit, & i could hear the Niner Eagles calling & calling & calling nearby.
i looked out at the Tree across the road from me but it was getting dark & i didn*t see any Eagles.
But even while on the phone, i kept hearing the calls.
i finally walked out & spotted an Eagle calling in the Tree across the road from me.
There were two of them!
Just as i started to find them & focus in on them, one flew off & i just caught the tail end of a call then a fly off of the second Eagle.
They had been screeching as though someone who didn*t belong was in their neighbourhood.

Yesterday we were walking near the Niner perch Trees near the water.
It was howling wind with crashing waves & six Eagles were soaring right over our heads way up there!
i wouldn*t have looked up except i heard their calling.
i figured they were Niners but then the actual Niners came roaring in calling & landed in their perch Tree & then i didn*t see the soarers any more.

i was busy getting ready to run out the door (of course!), when i heard a duet of calls & there were two Eagles in the Tree across the road from me.
By the time i could get out there with my camera, one had left.

i am always looking at the Tree across the road from me, to see if anyone is there.
Even with my glasses off i can tell that the top of the Tree looks different.
It was a beautiful golden Sun rise & when i put on my glasses, sure enough, there was a gorgeous young Eagle perched there picking up the lovely orange light!
i am in my back yard, hiding behind my woodshed, but this Eagle spots me before i can get my camera to focus.
i figure i don*t have long before this one takes off.
i try to stand still & not be threatening at all, but it doesn*t always help.

Yesterday i drove through the Nest neighbourhood & spotted two Eagles perched in one of the Niners* Trees near the water.
As i got closer i looked at the Tree that is right on the bank to the water & spotted another Eagle!
Then i saw another!
& another!
& another!
The light was gone so i didn*t stop to photograph.
Six Eagles all close to one another!
So perhaps some kind of feeding event happened here?

Yesterday morning i heard the hoarse call of the Niner female & there they both were on the Tree across the road from me!
Maybe they aren*t sitting eggs either?
The first one is skewed, so click it to see it properly.
