Thank you Booni. High Def analog, sounds like a mixture of old technology and new technology to make an even newer technology. Keeping my fingers crossed with hope.

Here's a map that the British Columbia Wildfire Service sent to fire departments in the area, following the August 2 lightning strike. Circles indicate negative strikes, + signs indicate positive strikes. Colour of the signs is an indication of time elapsed, not intensity.
Only negative strikes hit the island. They are less likely to cause fires, though one did.
Here is a link Cali gave us for a better understanding of what positive stikes and negative strikes are.

On the map we can see a whole lot of strikes on the narrow peninsula that holds Helliwell Park and Whaling Station Bay.
The left-most green circle near the top edge of the island is where the Brigantine nest tree is.
There is another green circle all alone near the middle of the oval, main body of the island; that's about where our lightning-strike fire was.
From what I have heard, the other strikes mostly hit electrical lines and transformers; the power surges would have been what fried our cam.

Taking a closer look at the map, I can see that there were a whole lot of lightning strikes, including one positive strike, on the water near Grassy Point. No wonder Booni had a noisy night.

We got an update from Securco!


We are still waiting for parts to come in on the mic. They were supposed to be here yesterday. I am working on a price for you so you know what youíre up against. We did get a picture on the old camera with the new dvr, but we canít make the PTZ function work. Sorry for the lack of updates, I wanted to have good news on the mic. 1st.

I for one would mot blame dear Dan ❤️ if he declined to climb while the eagles are in town. 😳 I recall that getting the equipment down was challenging enough! 🙄😁
