boodle, that is a question i don*t know the answer to.

Okay, this video shows Dale continuing to make his way up the rope to join Dan at the cam gear.
You can see Dan hanging out behind the cam on the back side of the Tree.
This standing in one place for a long time was very hard for Dan & he was EXTREMELY grateful to get back to earth after he was done.
Once Dale arrives, he sits astride a branch & they both haul up the bucket that has all the gear in it that they need for the job.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZESQQyESUs" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZESQQyESUs</a>

In this video, they are pulling up the bucket.
Dale groans, & from the ground i thought it was because something fell out of the bucket.
But perhaps he has a leg cramp as he grabs his thigh for a bit.
Dale gears up, & then they both are ready to climb the final stretch.
They discuss the plan for when they get there.

august 23 2016 13:47 - Dale & Dan near the cam equipment

We see Dan getting closer, & Dale just below.
Nick comes over to me to ask whether everything in the Tree is unplugged from the power yet, so i go do that & the cam goes dark for viewers.
cali posted the last video, of Dan wrapping the cam dome with plastic wrap to protect it on the way down.
Perhaps she will post it here for us to see again?
We watch Dan do this wrapping from the ground.
Then he gets his footing secure, ready for Dale to climb up & begin the removal of the equipment.
i run into the shed & unplug everything & shut down all the equipment & unplug it for a rest.

Okay, Dan has now removed the bolts holding the lid of the grey box with cam attached & is holding it while he examines inside.
He told me later there was a burnt wire smell & that the Buzz Kill box looked discoloured.
He decides to disconnect the cam wiring from the box.
He then hangs the cam from his waist while he photographs.
Dale is still there on the backside of the Tree.
Now Dan needs to figure out how to disconnect all the wiring coming from inside the wire loom so that the grey box can be removed.

Last video!
Dan has put the lid with cam attached back on the grey box.
You can see the hole in the bottom where the wire loom used to be attached.
The wire loom end is now wrapped & taped & protected.
You can see our orange rope & a yellow strap are tied around the cam & up to a higher branch to hold onto it as Dan uses a drill to remove the screws holding the grey box to the 2x4s.
& there it is, flying free on the end of our rope!  :eceek
i somehow missed it getting lowered down the Tree, which is probably a good thing.
Dan lowers himself next using our orange rope.
Then it is Dale*s turn.

august 23 2016 14:35 - grey box & Dan come down

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgtsB70GFQk" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgtsB70GFQk</a>

11:41 was the time of the first video.
It is now 14:35 & everyone is pretty tired!
Dan expresses his gratitude to be back on the earth again.
Our orange climbing rope is left in the Tree for the return installation of our system!

Oh, yay, finally an update from Securco!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we were unable to get the camera working again, the dvr is semi responsive and we have been unsuccessful with the mic. I am hopeful that the mic. will come back to life. We are exploring options right now to replace. Luckily, technology has improved and prices have come down. This week, I will be bringing in another dvr to see if the mic. Portion of the unit will still function. We will keep you informed.

i wrote back to Securco -

Hiya, just thinking that i need to remind you about the terribly crummy slow internet we have on Hornby, so unfortunately we can*t have one of those nice new high definition cams.

So just a heads up, as you are exploring options for replacement.

Thank you so much!

Not long after, i got this reply!
i find this encouraging & i am feeling very hopeful.

Hello again,

Luckily, now you can get a high def camera, but analog. (New technology) I will keep you in the loop, the dvr will be here tomorrow.
