Lovely pictures Booni and Wren. This looks like a young female to me - but what do I know.

So, from the cam, this is a lovely perch for seeing the Eagle nice & close in.
But from the ground, there is a huge broken off branch right in the way.
There*s only one spot where we could stand to see the whole Eagle.
& often the head was behind that big branch.
So, i was timing my fotos for when the Eagle*s head would be out from behind that.
You can see one of those pencil lines that wren spotted, in this foto.

Here you can see two.

Here comes a poopshot, & i figured it would be a good opportunity to look at those dark tail feathers.
There are two white ones blocking them, but you can see the stained, perhaps older feathers, right through the newer white ones, plus the stained ends of the older ones stick out beyong the ends of the newer white ones.

The poopshot splattoes that broken & in-the-way branch, but not hard enough to snap it off, darnit.

Yellow beak peaking out to the right here.
& some nice artwork!

Having a good head scratch.

& what the heck is THAT sticking out at 5:00?
Took me a few to figure out what that was!

A little later, & another head scratch.

Preening the white back feathers, under the wings, just above the base of tail.
The flecks on the brow can be seen well here.

Another head scratch, this time using the left foot to scratch, & standing on the right.

A bit out of focus unfortunately, but a long cool view of the back of the head & look at the left foot*s position after that scratch!

The wind was really ruffling the Eagle*s feathers.

i believe the Eagle had been picking at their toes?
You can see the stained tail feathers, one far left, one far right.

i was given a thorough visual examination more than once.

You would think there were Eagles everywhere, the way this Eagle was looking around.
They looked this way often, which is inland from Wiig*s Nest Tree.

& looking that way is mishi*s Tree, & the  Niner Nest Tree.
i wonder if those Eagles are home?

cali once asked me what we were looking at on the cam & we finally figured out it was Cormorants standing on a big rock in the water.
Otto & i were out walking from Hidden Beach past Sandstone Point almost to the Brigantine Nest when i spotted these Cormorants on a rock, which is, i believe, what we were seeing from the cam that day.

Earlier, i went looking for the Eagle in The Babysitting Tree.

september 26 2015 13:04 - Eagle in The Babysitting Tree

This Eagle has a *grizzled* look, kinda like someone we know & love, which had me looking hard at the fotos as i was taking them.

Stretching right wing tail & foot here.

& a shuggle.
You can see the stained tail feathers here.

A bit of a left neck/head feathers part here, which also had me looking closely.
