Thank you Nancy. I keep hoping mom will appear as we all do.

I saw no pictures or updates of Mom on the other forums.  Sad, but this is the way nature works.  On the other hand, she may return.  We can only wait and see.  Assume Barb hasn't seen Mom, either.

Thank you for this update, Nancy. We are all really missing mom and praying for her. I hope this chapter isn't over yet as we all do. I take comfort in that dad is still defending nest/ territory. It's hard not knowing what has happened.

Please note that I may have posted the summary, but AJL wrote most of it and booni verified some of the dates -  it is a team effort here.

AJL and Nancy - thank you for the update re Mom and the other eagles. I had heard some details via the 'eagle-vine'; but good to have those involved.

Booni amd Wren I have been looking at your photos for the month of March. You two make such a great team. Your devotion to and the time you have spent taking, uploading and posting so many photos = applause, applause. I too hope to see Mom return; time will tell.

clap Thank you flower group hug

I am so amazed at (and grateful for) the wonderful view we have of this entire territory, both from our ground crew and our cam and cam ops. Magnificent and so fortunate to see how life unfolds in real time.

Thank you all  so much for the report regarding Ma and Pa Hornby. You all do an amazing job. I've followed this pair since they first came online, they have given so much joy and sorrow. I have always dreaded the day when one goes missing. I so hope she returns, poor Pa must be so sad, the young females vying for his attention aren't his lifelong mate. Get well soon Ma and please come back, we all miss you sooo much. Love Gillie (New Zealand)  cry

I am also a member of the group that first got to see the Hornby's in their nests for the first time. I will never forget them. They were wonderful partners and fantastic parents to their eaglets. They were also hilarious at times, especially when Dad got too vigorous with nestorating, a little too selfish with the food, or when he didn't want to leave the brooding position and let her take charge. She even poked him with twigs to get him moved off. My heart still hopes that mom is coming back, but after this length of time, my head doesn't think it is likely.  cry

I guess I can dream that some unknown rehabber has taken Mom in.

Thank you for your great work, you wonderful people!

Well I'm heartbroken to hear this news. I so love Ma Hornby and have watched the two of them for years. I knew there would be an end. I just wasn't prepared for it. I hope a rehabber did take her in and that we'll see her again.
