I am a bit late getting these photos posted....
booni does a lot for all of us, and to show our appreciation, Donna and I took her on an adventure.

                                                          boonis big adventure....

After Donna and I met at the airport in Vancouver, we took the ferry to Vancouver Island.  We met up with booni at Buckley Bay, and proceeded to MARS, where we were to spend the night with Maj, and go to the release of the five eaglets in the morning.

Puntledge Campground

An eagle soars overhead, as we wait for the truck carrying the eaglets to arrive.

The truck arrives, and the first three eaglets, in their carriers, are taken out.

Number one....out he comes and quickly flies off.

Number two is a bit slower, but hops his way out and then takes off.

Next up is Salal, the eaglet that booni captured on Hornby....Happy flying beautiful one!

booni relaxes in the sun with Rueben...Rueben seems very content!

The two eaglets that were released at the distillery took little time in finding their way.  The first flew off and circled around for a moment.  Unfortunately I shut off the video recording just before this little one flew over a flock of geese that were in the field, causing them all to take flight.

The last eaglet to go, quickly took off, but found a tree close by to relax and cool off in.

The happy group gathers outside of the distillery after a quick tour.

And Rueben had taken over the back seat, much to Maj and boonis delight, as he patiently waited for us.

After the releases, Maj decided to join us on our adventure.  First stop after leaving MARS was this abandoned building on property that MARS maintains.  booni walked around inside, while Maj explained that the graffiti that is seen changes regularly.

Next we were off to Qualicum beach.  It is an amazing place, no matter what time of day or year that you wander there.  Signs posted to remind us to slow down....even when walking, to enjoy the beauty.

There is an Indian burial ground on the site, that is protected by fencing and two totem poles.  The light was not great, but the emotion was strong.

A half moon was rising in the sky....

And a turtle rock graced our path.

After a wonderful dinner on the water, we found a place to spend the night.  I was up for first light, so took this picture of the room where booni, Maj and Rueben were still sleeping soundly.

With everyone up, and coffee served, we walked around the grounds of this hotel....and then headed off to Butterfly World.  Even though it was the end of the season, there were spectacular things to see.  The orchids were beautiful!!

And butterflies!

Notice the photographer in the background!

There was information posted around the room in that Butterfly World place.
The wings of the Butterflies eating the rotting bananas, the wings look like the eyes of Owls!
Which scares off predators.
Very interesting.

booni was getting hungry....well we all were, but as we were driving to find the restaurant of our dreams..(breakfast all day) we just HAD to stop here at the famous "Goats on the Roof"...What a hoot!!

We finally found a place to eat...that serves breakfast all day!!  Our waitress recognized all of us from being on the news the night before.  LOL

With full stomachs we went in search of the ultimate part of our trip.....

The owner of the store took this picture of the happy shoppers!  Maj is getting some more direction from AJL!!

Posing with the goods.  LOL

Next we are off to NWIRC...I only took a couple of pictures there, but booni and Donna took a LOT!

Eagle at NWIRC

We had time for a quick stop at IHOS, then rushed back to MARS.  We loaded up boonis car, said our goodbyes to Maj and Reg, and then zoomed off to catch the last ferry to Hornby.
I hope that booni enjoyed her adventure....even though she had no idea where we were taking her!
Thanks Maj for joining us...and adding to the fun!

We caught the last ferry to Hornby that evening.  After unloading the car, it was time for a good sleep!
In the morning (I missed first light) I began my morning walk down to Grassy Point in search of Mom and Dad.

My heart was pounding as I spotted Dad sitting in the His and Hers tree.  He is SOOOO handsome!!

I grabbed a couple of pictures of the sun through the clouds.....before heading towards Peters Tree to see if anyone was there.

My heart was in my throat....there is Mom!!!!  Or is it???  Wait a minute....what is this guy doing on the Peters Tree??

I had started to walk back towards Grassy Point when I heard a lot of trilling near Peters Tree, so I turned around and ran back (yes ran) to that area.  The heron was gone, and now an eagle sat in its place.  Was this Mom?

Within minutes, Dad flew in and joined Mom on Peters Tree.

I love Love LOVE the way that Dad looks at Mom.
