Cornell Red-Tailed Hawks Have Fledged!

Yes, all three have fledged.  Numbers one and three are resting in the nest, while Number two is in a tree, about a block away.

Big Red laid her third egg of the 2013 breeding season on March 20. This egg came 3 days after the second egg, and 6 days after the first egg. The laying interval was the same as last year, and in 2012 it took 38 days from the first egg to the first hatch.  Ezra is her very attentive mate.

Looks like Dad is incubating the eggs.  Mom flies in to take her turn.

This is about six hours into the pip.  The chick should hatch within 24 hours.

Three tiny Red-tailed Hawks are fed by Big Red while the two older siblings tussle.  The third chick was hatched today.
