The original Eagles of Hornby Island Webcam is working now too, and it doesn't have a commercial like the Wildearth TV cam.

http://www.hornbyeagles.com/webcam.htm

People on dial-up would have trouble getting through that commercial.  Doesn't bother me any.

Thanks for all the info.  smile

Barbarella, that is the Hornby Eagles website link but it is still the WE broadcasting of the cam. If you click on the link under the photo, it takes you to a temporary site that Raptorman has set up with a different chatroom. However, if you click on the photo on Hornby Eagles website, you will be taken to the WildEarth website where they have their own chatroom. Some have been having trouble registering at WE so the temporary alternate site.

ETA, I may have posted an inaccuracy here. It seems Raptorman may have once again worked his magic and provided a link that is not coming through WildEarth.tv and therefore does not show the ads. I can't keep up lately.  confused

Doug and the Hornby Eagles Group are having a new static line installed today for the live cam, so we will have fewer problems with getting the cam back to streaming after a power outage on Hornby Island.  (That happens at times after rain storms there.)

Raptorman said that the cam will be off the air during that time.  It will be worth it!   love

Because the Hornby Eagles return in early October, today feels like the start of a new season. The past season brought a mixture of joy and sorrow, and it also brought many people together to watch and learn about the eagles - we are grateful for all the new friends that we have made here.

We are going to start new threads (topics) for discussion of what is seen on the nest and another for Ground Observations.  The topics for the 2009-2010 season will be grouped together into a place where they can be easily accessed and read.

We look forward to welcoming Mom and Dad Hornby back to their nest for a new season and hope that they return healthy and vigorous, ready for whatever lies ahead.
