Title: Special Eagle Videos for Students
Post by: Blue on May 14, 2011, 09:46:14 AM
The videos posted here are made specially for students to watch interesting events on the Hornby nest. They will demonstrate activities in the eagles' lives that are educational and entertaining.

We hope you enjoy them and will discuss them in your class topic here.  :ecsmile

DAD FEEDS THE EAGLETS on May 13, 2011
6:27

This is a video of Dad Hornby feeding David and Alexandra. He carefully tears the meat into small pieces for them but you will see in this video that David got a long stringy piece and had a hard time getting rid of it.  :ecsmile Dad also picks up the pieces that they drop.

THis girl sure can pack it away, can't she?  Thanks Blackster!  I wish we could have seen the video of Dad feeding long stringy pieces, but our tech won't allow it!

Wildkitten, is there a format or place ( teacher.com) that your tech would allow? If so, we can try to make it available. Thanks for letting us know.  :ecsmile

Another question, wildkitten - would shorter videos be better?

 EMC and Blue,
It's not the length at all, it's has something to do with blocked sites.  I can get photobucket, but not flicker.  In YouTube, I can access only the Hornby Eagle site(thanks to techy guy)  IF i have a URL,  but can't get Paintnut's videos because she goes through someone else ...I have no clue why I haven't been able to access videos from here..... I can also get to teachertube.com.  Techy guy is working on making some things better, but things move S l o w l y.   I appreciate you working on this with me....  the class loves using the forum!

Wildkitten, if you are able to access YouTube, the Hornby Eagles have an official YouTube site. http://www.youtube.com/user/HornbyIslandEagles There is a recent video from May 13th there (along with many others) and perhaps we can get some more posted for your class.     :nod2

I do hope your tech guy can help. The DAD FEEDS THE EAGLETS video is on YouTube.  :puzzled2

This is the url to take you directly to it at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-rBftc24lY

I think wildkitten means that the only YouTube videos they are allowed, are the ones on the official Hornby Eagles site. And that is thanks  to their techy guy, and only then if she has the url.

So we need to have a video on our official site ( and give url to our teachers),  or post on teachertube.com. , or photobucket.

Yes, that is what wildkitten meant. I just thought that tech guy could allow other suitable YT sites so put the url there so he can check my site out.

Wildkitten, I hope that your IT guy gets things working for you and that you and the students will be able to watch the Hornby eagle videos our people make.  They all are 'family and student-friendly!'

TeacherTube is a site that most school districts allow for videos. That might be a good site to post videos for classrooms.    EVERYTHING in my district is blocked except TeacherTube.com.   Just a thought.

Click and Play with a Canadian River : unique sounds you might hear while standing by the river.

This is a fun interactive activity ( adults might like it too)
